OEM Textile Manufacturer for Custom Products
DRU Textile works as an OEM textile manufacturer for brands, wholesalers, importers and hotel buyers who already know what they want to make. You send a tech pack, a physical reference sample or a detailed specification, and we produce baby, hotel or home textiles to match it. This page explains what to send, how we match fabric, measurements and colour, how the approved sample is used and how bulk production is checked against it.
OEM Production to Your Specifications
In OEM production, the design is yours and our job is to make it accurately and consistently. At DRU Textile this is our Private Label (OEM) model: we produce to your designs and specifications, and the finished goods carry your brand.
Because we produce knitted and woven fabrics as well as finished products, fabric weight, construction and finish can be matched to your specification within the same controlled process. Yarn, fabric, accessories and sewing are managed transparently from start to finish.
OEM production is available for baby and children's textiles, hotel textiles and home textiles. For fabric-only orders, the same approach is offered as Custom Fabric Development.
What to Send Us
The more complete the information at the start, the fewer questions and sample rounds are needed later. You can start with whatever you have: a full tech pack, a physical reference sample, or a written specification with photos.
- A tech pack with technical drawings and a measurement chart
- A physical reference sample, if you have one, showing the fit, fabric and finish you want
- Fabric details: composition, GSM for knitted and terry fabrics, TC for woven bedding fabrics, and construction
- Colour references, such as Pantone codes or a physical colour swatch
- Artwork for prints, embroidery or jacquard, with placement and size
- Trims and accessories, such as zips, buttons, poppers or cords
- Label, hangtag and packaging requirements
- Quantities per colour and size, and your target delivery date
If Some Information Is Missing
Gaps in a specification are common and do not stop a project. We list the open points and complete them with you before sampling, for example by suggesting a fabric weight or construction suited to the intended use.
Tech Pack Checklist: What to Include and Why
The table below shows what a typical textile tech pack contains and why each part matters in production. Not every product needs every item; a muslin swaddle needs far less detail than a sleeping bag with a zip.
| Tech pack item | Typical contents | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Technical drawings | Front and back flat sketches, construction details, seam and stitch types | Shows how the product is built, so cutting and sewing follow your design rather than an interpretation of it |
| Measurement chart | Measurements for each size, measuring points and tolerances | The main reference for fit, and for checking bulk production against the approved sample |
| Fabric specification | Composition, GSM or TC, knit or weave construction, finish | Determines feel, weight, durability and cost; it is what the fabric is produced and checked against |
| Colour references | Pantone codes or a physical swatch for each colour | A shared colour standard reduces the risk of shade differences between sample and bulk |
| Artwork and placement | Vector files for prints, embroidery or jacquard; size and position on the product | Ensures logos and designs are reproduced at the right size and in the right place |
| Trims and accessories | Zips, buttons, poppers, cords, elastic; brand and colour if specified | Trims affect function, appearance and, especially on baby products, safety |
| Labels | Brand label, care label text, size label; material and position | Care label content needs to suit your target market, and label placement affects comfort |
| Packaging | Folding method, polybag or box, inserts, stickers or barcodes, carton marks | Affects presentation, protection in transit and how goods are received at your warehouse |
| Quantities and delivery | Order quantity per colour and size, target delivery date | Needed to plan fabric, production and the delivery schedule |
How We Match Your Specifications
We review your tech pack or reference sample and list any points that need clarification, such as a fabric weight that does not suit the intended use or a trim that needs an alternative. These questions are resolved before sampling rather than during bulk production.
Fabric is matched on composition, weight and construction. For hotel textiles, our production covers terry from 300 to 800 GSM and woven fabrics from 145 to 400 TC. Knitted fabrics such as single jersey, interlock, rib, terry and muslin are made to the required weight and width.
Colours are matched to your references. Depending on the design and fabric, fabrics can be plain dyed or printed with reactive, pigment or digital printing, and blend ratios are agreed per project.
Sample Approval
Once the specification is clear, we produce a pre-production sample using the agreed fabric, trims, labels and branding. You check fit, measurements, colour, workmanship and labelling, and send comments if anything needs to change.
When you approve the sample, it becomes the reference for bulk production. Any change after approval, such as a different trim or new label text, should be agreed before production continues, so the sample, the specification and the order stay aligned.
Pre-production samples are free of charge for baby and home textiles. For other product groups, sample terms are confirmed in the quotation.
Quality Checks Against the Approved Sample
Quality control is a fixed step in our production process, between production and packaging. Products are checked against the approved sample and your specification, not against a general standard.
- Fabric: composition, weight (GSM or TC), hand feel and appearance
- Colour: shade compared with the approved sample and your colour references
- Measurements: key points checked against the measurement chart and tolerances
- Workmanship: seams, stitching, hems and finishing
- Branding: logo position and quality, labels and hangtags
- Packaging: folding, packing method, quantities and carton marking
Inspection Criteria and Certificates
Inspection points and acceptance criteria are agreed per project, based on your product and market. Certificate logos shown on our site include GOTS, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and ISO 9001; certificate details are shared on request.
